Hantek DSO8060 Digital Oscilloscope Overview (Part 1)
The development of digital measuring instrumentation leads to the increase in the device accuracy and performance. Besides, the multipurpose and portability characteristics of the devices are being developed. The article provides an overview of one of these devices from the Chinese measuring instrumentation manufacturer Hantek Electornics.
Hantek DSO8060 Digital Oscilloscope is a multifunction measuring device combining the functions of an oscilloscope, a signal generator and a multimeter. This unique combination of different electronic measuring devices is highly valued by the electronic engineers, as the needed devices will be at hand and will not require much space. This is a very practical solution.
Let us start the review describing the external interfaces and menus of Hantek DSO8060 digital oscilloscope. The upper part of the device houses: signal generator output, external synchronization input and two oscilloscope channels inputs. All the connectors are BNC type.
USB input for external storage device, mini-USB for PC connection and external power supply connector are located on the side panel.
Digital oscilloscope housing is equipped with rubber shields protecting it from small strokes. A handle is provided for comfortable device transportation, and there is a stand for placing it on the table.
The connectors for multimeter measuring leads connection are located on the front panel, as well as the display and control buttons.
The menu, and therefore the oscilloscope control, is intuitive and apprehensible. Hantek DSO8060 control buttons, similarly to those of the most of digital oscilloscopes, are divided into groups. The buttons used for choosing function parameters are placed in the upper row. The next group consisting of six buttons is intended for multimeter menu control. The controls of the vertical and horizontal time base as well as the buttons of oscilloscope control menu and input signal parameters are located separately.
The navigation buttons are used for adjusted parameter values input, as well as filenames input while saving the settings or images.

Hantek DSO8060 package contents are rather numerous for a handheld device. It includes two oscilloscope measuring leads with nozzles:
These test leads are equipped with a preset capacitor located inside the connector housing. Test lead frequency response may be adjusted with its help so that a more correct input waveform is displayed. Test lead has a divider with two positions х1 and х10. In the first one the maximum pass frequency is 6 MHz, in the second one – 60 MHz.
For high-frequency signals investigation the package includes RG-58A/U coaxial cable with wave resistance of 50 Ω. This cable model ensures decreased loss in signal transfer due to additional screen and foamed dielectric:
