Pro'sKit GS-510/520 Gas Torches Review

Greetings to all of our ToolBoom store customers and visitors. Today we're going to take a closer look at two marvelous torches: Pro'sKit GS-510 and Pro'sKit GS-520. Both are very powerful and versatile, yet quite portable and useful not only in your workshop, but in everyday life as well. With those two little guys you can fire up you grill, no matter whether it’s sunny or raining outside, weld pretty much any kind of metals and there’s more. So let’s see what Pro'sKit GS-510 and Pro'sKit GS-520 can offer us.

Pro'sKit GS-520 Gas Torch Technical Specifications

Pro'sKit GS-520 construction is more than convenient. It has a very comfortable handle with a special corrugated surface. Just to make sure it will stay in your hands no matter what. And a handy horizontal nozzle, which makes it really easy to use whether you’re outside burning woods or welding in your workshop. By the way, to save some space gas container was placed inside the handle. So be careful and try no to hold your GS-520 onto open fire.

If you’d like to rest your hands you can always use a removable surface mount.

Inlet valve, located at the bottom of the handle, makes gas refill process quite fast and simple. It takes few seconds but just one charge lasts a while.

Pro'sKit GS-520’s controls are rather simple yet very convenient: ignition button, a fuse, operating position retainer, gas flow regulator and a shift lever to select the exact type of flame you need.

Pro'sKit GS-520 has a piezoelectric-based ignition system. Although Pro'sKit GS-520 is one handy tool to set a fire in seconds, you might want to have a spare gas tank always by your side, especially in fields.

You don’t need any special skills to fire it up. First lower the fuse and push the ignition button. Keep holding it while pulling the switch on the left side of the torch towards you. That will lock the flame.

Now you can release the starter button:

You can change the type of the flame with a special lever on the right side of your GS-520:

But that’s not all to it. You can change the type of flame as well by pulling the special lever on the nozzle:

But, unfortunately, there’s no way you can lock on the type of flame you need. Though, it could’ve been a very useful feature, because, as you may know, different types of flame produce different temperatures.

Pro'sKit GS-510 Gas Torch

Pro'sKit GS-510 is slightly different. This gas torch is quite unusual because of the unusual burning angle which is about 45 º. Though, gas refill is still done through the bottom part of the torch.

Functionally Pro'sKit GS-510 is identical to GS-520, but it’s slightly different in use. To fire it up, for instance, you have to push the fuse first and then turn the knob. Now you can push that same exact knob to light the flame and adjust the gas flow. At the nozzle you’ll find a flame type controller.

Temperature of reactive stream is 1300 ºC:

Regular stream of Pro'sKit GS-510 is about 1000 ºC:

GS-510 isn't as fancy-packed as GS-520 model - it comes in a cardboard box. But it still has Pro’sKit’s reliable construction and low price:
