Overview
Description
EXFO FIP-425B is an advanced wireless inspection probe designed to carry out a comprehensive check of the health status and quality of optical connectors, which directly impact the quality of fiber optical connections, in a fully automated mode. It integrates a number of core functions necessary for inspecting and testing optical patchcord connectors and optical patch panels.
The FIP-425B has an image centering feature to deliver optimized image quality, and automatically captures and analyzes obtained data in line with preprogrammed IEC, IPC or custom standards to provide accurate results in a single step.
The automatic image centering feature enables you to inspect optical connectors without manual repositioning of the probe, while wireless connectivity eliminates the need for physical connection between the probe and the display device allowing for a wire-free user experience.
The high accuracy of assessment provided by the EXFO FIP-425B eliminates false-positive optical fiber test results that may involve additional costs as tolerances for insertion loss (IL) and optical return loss (ORL) decrease with higher data transfer rates.
Thanks to three available magnification levels enabling the detection of imperceptible contaminants at the periphery of optical connectors, a convenient color indication of connector test results, small size, flexibility, rugged design, and safety for the eyes, EXFO FIP-425B is an excellent choice for fiber optical networks professionals.
